Jaltech and Wetility Seal R500 Million Deal to Solar Power Thousands of SA Homes

Wetility, South Africa’s fastest-growing solar-as-a-service provider, has secured a landmark R500 million structured capital partnership with Jaltech, a leading funder of solar energy projects. This strategic investment will enable Wetility to expand its clean energy footprint by over 16 MW, powering homes and businesses across the country while avoiding more than 250,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions. The capital will fund solar and battery system installations, accelerating Wetility’s mission to provide reliable, cost-effective energy solutions to over one million customers. Wetility CFO Dawid Swart calls the deal a major step forward in empowering households and SMEs with more control, savings, and predictability amid South Africa’s volatile energy landscape. Jaltech, known for backing high-impact ventures, has identified Wetility as a key player in reshaping the residential and SME solar market, with both companies viewing this transaction as a blueprint for future funding rounds to support national scale-up efforts.
